The Camera Naturalist Photo Club has been in existence for over 25 years and is the only club in New Jersey dedicated strictly to the art of nature photography.

Our main objective is to share the beauty of our natural world, through photography, with club members, friends, family and the public. Members vary in experience from beginner to expert. While the competitions are held in 35mm slide format, some of our members are also active in black & white and color printing, medium and large format, and now digital photography.

Club meetings and activities cover a variety of topics including: educational programs, club competitions, field trips, slide shows by experienced photographers throughout the area, and social activities such as our holiday party and annual year-end picnic. Our yearly dues are $25 which goes to offset the cost of judges, lecturers, and other operating expenses such as postage. Our normal meeting is usually held the second Thursday of each month, September through June, with additional two or three meetings during the calendar year. The meetings take place at the Somerset County Environmental Education Center; 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, beginning promptly at 7:30 PM. Please check our Schedule by clicking on the link on the left for exact dates.

The Camera Naturalist Photo Club participates in, and occasionally hosts, state-wide nature competitions run by the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs, of which we are a member. The club is also active in displaying their work through photographic exhibits at various public facilities (libraries, nature centers, etc.).

Anyone with an interest in nature photography, or a desire to come see beautiful images of the natural world, is invited to join us at one of our meetings. You won't be disappointed. For more information feel free to contact the club president via our Contact Us link.
